UGC Scholarships
POST GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP FOR SINGLE GIRL CHILD
Application Submission Period : August - November
Eligibility :

  1. Slots : 3000
  2. Age limit: Girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in the first year of PG courses are eligible.
  3. The scheme is applicable to such single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full time first year Master's Degree course in any designated university or a post graduate college.
  4. Admission to PG Course in Distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.
POST GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP FOR UNIVERSITY RANK HOLDERS
Application Submission Period : August- November
Eligibility :

  1. The scholarship is available to the student for first PG Degree only. Age limit for students is 30 years at the time of admission in PG course.
  2. Distance mode of education will not be considered under the scheme.
  3. The Undergraduate courses from the following streams have been identified for the award of scholarships:1. Life Sciences 2. Physical Sciences 3. Chemical Sciences 4. Earth Sciences 5. Mathematical Sciences 6. Social Sciences 7. Commerce 8. Languages
  4. Before verifying applications of students the concerned Universities must ensure that applicants satisfy all norms as per guidelines.
  5. The first and second rank holders (Not position holders) would be considered from Universities/ Institutions and non-affiliated/ autonomous colleges according to the number of students who have appeared in the examination at the undergraduate level as per the following table.

POST GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP FOR PROFESSIONAL COURSES FOR SC/ST
Application Submission Period : August- November
Eligibility :

  1. For the purpose of awarding this scholarship, students must be pursuing professional courses in the following Institutions/ Colleges/Universities:
  2. Universities/Institutions/Colleges included under section 2(f) & and 12(B) of UGC Act.
  3. Deemed to be Universities included under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and eligible to receive grants-in-aid from UGC,
  4. Universities/Institutions/College funded by Central/State Government.
  5. Institutes of National Importance.
  6. Courses which require approval from Regulatory Council i.e. Medical Council of India (MCI), Dental Council of India (DCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), NCTIS, NCTE Bar council of India (BCI), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), INC, FORENSIC REGULATORY & DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF INDIA are considered professional courses.
  7. Note 1: M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., MSW and Mass Communication and Journalism degree are accepted as “Non-professional courses”.
  8. Note 2: Candidates pursuing post graduate course in professional subjects through correspondence or in Distance Education mode are not eligible to receive financial assistance under this scheme.
Ph. D. Scholars - SAVITRIBAI JYOTIRAO PHULE FELLOWSHIP FOR SINGLE GIRL CHILD (SJSGC)
Application Submission Period : November
Eligibility :

  1. Any single girl child of her parents pursuing Ph.D. in any stream/subject in recognised Universities/Colleges/ Institutes is eligible to apply under the scheme.
  2. The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has registered herself in regular, full-time Ph.D. program.
  3. Admission to Ph.D. Course in part-time/distance mode is not covered under the scheme. A scholar is not eligible for fellowship if the research is intended/pursued through open,  part-time, or distance education modes.
  4. Girl students up to the age of 40 years for general category and 45 years for the reserved categories, i.e., SC/ST/OBC and PWD (Persons with Disabilities) as on the last date of submission of online application are eligible.
  5. The fellowship under this scheme is available for pursuing research work in the following types of institutions only: (a) Central/State Universities included under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and having valid accreditation from NAAC. (b) Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and having valid accreditation from NAAC. (c) Institutions fully funded by Central or State Governments and empowered to award Degrees. (d) Institutions of National Importance.
  6. Non-teaching employees of any University / College/ Higher Educational Institution*/ Central/ State/ UT Government are not eligible under the scheme for availing the fellowship, even if they are on Study Leave or Extraordinary Leave (EOL) to pursue Ph.D course. Fellowship is not available for pursuing M.Phil.
