As part of the academic curriculum, the Department of Physics organized a field trip to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on 21^st August 2026 to provide students with practical exposure to space science and technology. Five faculty members and 48 final-year UG and PG students, participated in the field visit. During the visit, students gained insights into ISRO’s major activities, including satellite communication, remote sensing, navigation, meteorology, space science and launch vehicle technology. They learned about the design and applications of satellites and the role of launch vehicles in space missions. The visit helped students understand the practical applications of concepts such as mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, thermodynamics, electronics, modern physics and materials science. It also provided valuable exposure to the working environment of scientists and engineers and highlighted the importance of innovation, teamwork, precision and quality in space research. Overall, the field trip was an enriching and inspiring academic experience that strengthened students’ practical understanding of Physics and encouraged their interest in space science, research and advanced technology.
