Final Report:

The Department of Physics organized a vibrant Onam Celebration on 25th August 2026 at the M.Sc. Lab, with the enthusiastic participation of both UG and PG Physics students. The function began with a prayer song by Jessie Sashni S.S. of I B.Sc. Physics, followed by the welcome address by A.S. Redlin. Jessie Sashni then delivered a brief talk on the history, cultural significance and values of Onam, highlighting the story of King Mahabali.

The cultural events included an Onam song by the Remi team of II M.Sc. Physics and dance performances by III B.Sc. Physics and Anchana Suriya of I M.Sc. Physics. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners and participants of various competitions, including Independence Day competitions and the National Graduate Physics Examination conducted by Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Jensa of III B.Sc. Physics. Around 115 students, faculty members attended the programme and made the celebration a memorable occasion The celebration promoted cultural appreciation, student talents, unity and camaraderie. The PG students participated in the Athapoo Competition organized by the Youth Welfare and Fine Arts Club, NMCC, and secured first prize.
