The PG Association Inauguration of the Department of Physics was successfully organized on 18^th August 2026, from 1:40 p.m. to 3:40 p.m., at the M.Sc. Physics Lab. The programme was graced by Dr. S. Vinu, Associate Professor, Government Arts and Science College, Nagercoil, who is a proud alumnus of the Department of Physics. His presence as an alumnus added special significance to the occasion and provided an opportunity for the present generation of students to interact with and learn from a former student who has successfully progressed in the academic field. Dr. S. Vinu shared his valuable experiences and insights with the postgraduate students and encouraged them to develop a strong interest in Physics, pursue higher education, and work towards achieving their academic and professional goals. His interaction with the students was inspiring and motivating. As part of the programme, a special song was presented by the Physics SF students and an interesting quiz programme was conducted by Jerisha and Abisha of the Aided stream which engaged the students and encouraged their active participation which added enthusiasm and vibrancy to the programme. The programme was attended by 71 participants including faculty members, PG students of both Aided and SF. The inauguration served as a platform to strengthen the bond between the department and its alumni while encouraging students to actively participate in the academic and co-curricular activities of the PG Association. The event marked a meaningful beginning to the activities of the PG Association and was an enriching and memorable occasion for the Department of Physics.
