Report on Fresher's Day Celebration – AAGAAZ 2026
The Department of Zoology, Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam, organized the Fresher's Day Celebration – "AAGAAZ 2026" on 10 July 2026 at 2.00 p.m. in the Zoology Laboratory to warmly welcome the first-year B.Sc. Zoology students into the department.
The programme commenced with a prayer song by C.P. Kerena and Team (III B.Sc. Zoology), invoking God's blessings for the success of the event and the academic journey of the freshers. J.K. Jobin (II B.Sc. Zoology) extended a cordial welcome to the gathering and greeted the newly admitted students, faculty members, and senior students.
The gathering was presided over by Dr. A. Premjith Jinham, Head of the Department of Zoology, who delivered the Presidential Address. He warmly welcomed the freshers to the Zoology family and encouraged them to make the best use of the academic opportunities, laboratory facilities, field visits, and extracurricular activities available in the department. He also emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and teamwork in achieving academic excellence.
To make the occasion lively and memorable, the II and III B.Sc. Zoology students presented a variety of cultural programmes, including songs, dances, and entertaining performances. The first-year students enthusiastically participated in games and fun-filled tasks, which helped them interact with their seniors and classmates in a friendly atmosphere.
A special segment of the programme was the formal welcome to the freshers by all the faculty members, followed by the honouring of the first-year students by the II and III B.Sc. Zoology students as a gesture of friendship, encouragement, and belonging. The event created a warm and cheerful environment that strengthened the bond between juniors and seniors.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by S. A. Abishek (II B.Sc. Zoology), who expressed sincere gratitude to the Head of the Department, faculty members, student organizers, performers, and all participants for making the celebration a grand success. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
