The Department of Physics, Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam, organized UG Freshers' Day – 2026 on 10th July 2026 in the Physics Seminar Hall from 1.40 p.m. to 3.40 p.m. The programme was conducted to warmly welcome the first-year B.Sc. Physics students and provide them an opportunity to interact with the faculty members and senior students. The programme began with a prayer song followed by welcome address. The gathering was presided over by Dr. D. Aruldhas., Head of the Department of Physics, who delivered the Presidential Address. In his speech, he welcomed the freshers into the Physics family and encouraged them to pursue academic excellence, maintain discipline, and actively participate in curricular and co-curricular activities throughout their college life.

The freshers then introduced themselves during the Self-Introduction session, which helped them become familiar with their classmates, seniors, and faculty members. A joyful Cake Cutting Ceremony was conducted by the staff, symbolizing the official welcome to the new batch of students. The entertainment session included a fun-filled game organized by III B.Sc. students, followed by a lively dance performance by II B.Sc. students. A quiz competition encouraged enthusiastic participation from the freshers and created an interactive learning atmosphere. Welcome gifts were distributed to all the freshers as a token of love and encouragement. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks. The programme was attended by around 67 students and approximately 10 faculty members. The Freshers' Day celebration successfully strengthened the bond between seniors and juniors, created a welcoming atmosphere for the newly admitted students, and marked the beginning of their academic journey with happiness, confidence, and enthusiasm.
