The
Department of PG Commerce organized a Parents–Teachers Meeting for the III Year
B.Com students on 25th February 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Department
Seminar Hall. The meeting was conducted under the leadership of the Head of the
Department (HOD) Dr.C.Christal Pappa and was coordinated by the class in-charge
Dr.V.Sunitha along with the faculty members.
The
programme commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by the class
in-charge, who highlighted the importance of conducting such meetings to maintain
effective communication between parents and the institution. The Head of the
Department then addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of parents in
supporting students during their final year of undergraduate studies, which is
a crucial stage for both academic success and career planning.
The
main focus of the meeting was to discuss the academic performance of the
students, particularly their 5th semester university examination results.
Parents were informed about their wards’ achievements and areas that require
improvement. The faculty members provided detailed insights into each student’s
academic progress and encouraged parents to motivate their children to perform
better in the upcoming final semester examinations.
Attendance
and discipline were also key points of discussion. Parents were made aware of
the importance of maintaining regular attendance and adhering to the rules and
regulations of the institution. The overall classroom behaviour of students was
discussed, and parents were advised to guide their children in maintaining a
positive attitude, discipline, and commitment towards their studies.
As
the students are in their final year, special emphasis was given to higher
education opportunities. The department encouraged students to pursue
postgraduate studies, particularly M.Com, within the same institution. The
benefits of continuing higher education, such as enhanced subject knowledge,
better career prospects, and academic growth, were clearly explained to the
parents.
In
addition, employability-related discussions were conducted to guide students
towards career opportunities after graduation. Faculty members shared
information about job prospects, skill development, and the importance of
preparing for competitive examinations and interviews. Parents were encouraged
to support their children in making informed decisions regarding their future
careers.
An
interactive session was arranged at the end of the meeting, where parents had
the opportunity to meet and interact with individual subject teachers. Each
faculty member provided personalized feedback on the students’ performance,
behaviour, and participation in class activities. Parents actively engaged in
the discussion, clarified their doubts, and shared their suggestions.
The
meeting concluded on a positive note with mutual understanding and cooperation
between parents and faculty members. Overall, the Parents–Teachers Meeting was
highly productive and helped in strengthening the relationship between parents
and the institution while ensuring the academic and professional development of
the students.
