presented in Parliament, to enhance students’ understanding of current economic
policies. The programme aimed to explain key budget highlights and their impact
on various sectors such as taxation, banking, infrastructure, agriculture, and
education.
Faculty
member Dr.V.Viji Kumar provided a detailed analysis of the budget, focusing on
changes in direct and indirect taxes, government spending priorities, fiscal
deficit, and initiatives for economic growth. Special attention was given to
how the budget affects businesses, employment opportunities, and financial
planning.
Students
actively participated in the session through discussions and question–answer
interactions. The programme helped PG Commerce students develop analytical
skills and connect theoretical knowledge with real-world financial
developments.
Overall,
the awareness programme was informative and beneficial, enabling students to
gain a clear understanding of the Union Budget and its implications for the
Indian economy. It also encouraged students to stay updated with national
financial policies and improve their academic and professional competence.
