The
UG & PG Commerce Association Inauguration Programme of the PG Department of
Commerce, Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam, was conducted
successfully on 12th September 2025 at 2.00 PM in Seminar Hall – II. The
programme marked the formal beginning of the association activities for the
academic year and was organized with great enthusiasm by the students and
faculty members of the department.
The
programme commenced with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, invoking a sense of unity and
respect for the Tamil language and culture. It was followed by a Prayer Song
sung by the II B.Com students, creating a pleasant and prayerful atmosphere for
the event.
The
Welcome Address was delivered by V.Q. Jelbin, PG Secretary, from II M.Com. In
the welcome speech, the secretary warmly welcomed the chief guest, faculty
members, and students. The address emphasized the significance of the
association in developing students’ academic excellence, leadership qualities,
and organizational skills.
The
Chief Guest Introduction was given by Dr. C. Christal Pappa, Professor and
Head, PG Department of Commerce, NMCC, Marthandam. She introduced the chief
guest, Dr. K. Krishna Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Commerce,
Periyar University, Salem, highlighting his academic achievements and valuable
contributions to the field of commerce education.
The
Chief Guest Address was delivered by Dr. K. Krishna Kumar, who motivated the
students through an inspiring and informative speech. He stressed the
importance of active participation in association activities for the overall
development of students. He encouraged students to improve their communication
skills, leadership abilities, and academic knowledge through involvement in
seminars, workshops, and competitions. His speech was highly motivational and
provided valuable guidance to the students for their future growth.
The
programme was attended by faculty members and students of the Department of
Commerce, and the audience listened with keen interest to the insights shared
by the chief guest. The event created an opportunity for students to understand
the objectives of the association and the importance of collective efforts in
achieving academic and personal excellence.
The
Vote of Thanks was proposed by S.K. Shelin Sharo, UG Secretary, from III B.Com.
In the speech, sincere gratitude was expressed to the chief guest for accepting
the invitation and delivering an inspiring address. Thanks were also conveyed
to the Head of the Department, faculty members, and students for their
cooperation and active participation in making the event successful.
The
programme concluded with the National Anthem, creating a sense of patriotism
and unity among the participants.
Overall,
the Association Inauguration Programme was highly successful and meaningful. It
provided motivation and encouragement to the students to actively participate
in the forthcoming association activities throughout the academic year. The
event laid a strong foundation for the academic, co-curricular, and
professional development initiatives planned by the department. It was a
