& PG Association Valedictory Programme Report
The
UG & PG Association Valedictory Programme of the PG Department of Commerce,
Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam, was held with great enthusiasm
and grandeur on 30th March 2026 at 2:00 PM in Seminar Hall – II. The programme
marked the successful culmination of various academic and co-curricular
activities organized by the department during the academic year.
The
event commenced with the traditional Tamil Thai Vazhthu, invoking a sense of
unity and cultural pride among the participants. This was followed by a soulful
prayer song lead by V.Q. Jelbin, II M.Com, PG Association Secretary, presented
by Abinaya and her group, which created a serene and positive atmosphere for
the programme.
The
Welcome Address was delivered by R.L. Rincy, II M.Com Class Representative, who
warmly greeted the dignitaries, faculty members, and students. She expressed
her gratitude for the opportunity to host such a meaningful event and
highlighted the importance of association activities in shaping students’
overall development.
The
Association Annual Report was presented by V.Q. Jelbin, II M.Com, PG
Association Secretary, who gave a comprehensive overview of the various
programmes, seminars, workshops, and competitions conducted throughout the
year. This was followed by the UG Association Report presented by S.K. Selin
Sharo, III B.Com, who elaborated on the achievements and active participation
of undergraduate students in academic and extracurricular activities.
The
Chief Guest of the day, Dr. B. Nalatha Vijilin, Assistant Professor, Department
of Commerce, Scott Christian College, Autonomous, Nagercoil, was formally
introduced by Dr. C. Christal Pappa, Head of the PG Department of Commerce. The
Chief Guest delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of
dedication, continuous learning, and skill development in achieving success.
Her motivating words encouraged students to strive for excellence in both
academics and personal growth.
The
cultural segment of the programme added vibrancy and entertainment to the
event. Vishnu Priya and her group presented a melodious song, captivating the
audience. This was followed by an energetic dance performance by Sumi Sree and
her group, which was well appreciated by everyone present.
A short video showcasing the activities of the PG
Department was presented by the UG and PG students. The Chief Guest highly
appreciated the efforts of the UG and PG Association Secretaries and the
participating students.”
One
of the most significant segments of the programme was the Prize Distribution
ceremony. Students were recognized and honored for their outstanding academic
achievements. Special recognition was given to students who secured the first
rank based on university marks up to the 5th semester at the class level.
Merlin (II M.Com) and J. Aaron (III B.Com) were appreciated for their
remarkable performance.
Further,
university rank holders were also honored for bringing laurels to the
institution. Ashwini of II M.Com secured the 7th rank at the university level
for the academic year 2024–2025, while Jerena Dhas of III B.Com secured the 5th
rank at the university level for the academic period 2022–2025. Their
achievements served as an inspiration to their fellow students.
The
Feedback session was presented by Abeesh Negore of I B.Com and Resmitha of II
B.Com. They shared their experiences and expressed their appreciation for the
opportunities provided by the association to enhance their skills and
confidence.
The
programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by M. Thirsha Diffy, II
B.Com and UG Association Joint Secretary. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude
to the Chief Guest, faculty members, organizing committee, and students for
their support and contribution in making the event a grand success.
The
event came to an end with the National Anthem, instilling a sense of patriotism
among the participants.
Overall,
the UG & PG Association Valedictory Programme was a memorable and
meaningful event. It not only celebrated the achievements of the students but
also reflected the collective efforts of the department in nurturing talent and
promoting academic excellence. The programme provided a platform for students
to showcase their abilities, gain recognition, and feel motivated for future
endeavors.
In conclusion, the Photo Session was a vibrant and
memorable part of the Valedictory Function. It successfully captured the spirit
of celebration, recognition, and togetherness. The photographs taken during the
session will remain as valuable memories, reflecting the achievements and
joyful moments of the UG and PG Association for the academic year 2025–2026.
